In all honesty, Phantasmat has never been my favorite series and the latest Phantasmat Collectors Edition in the series have seemed rather dreadful. Being an archeological student is hard work and discoveries are exciting, but this assignment quickly becomes very dangerous. This was one of the first games to ever use the swap mechanic in HOP Royal Challenge Solitaire I have become rather tired of dreary dark games with decaying buildings and dark, Phantasmat Collectors Edition scenery. One of the reasons I love this series is because the storylines are always really good, and original, and I never know if I'm alive, or dead! I have searched high and low on my neverending quest to find a game that had a storyline as PHantastic as the first one, unfortunately, I haven't found one that even comes close! Pros: great environment even if we're pretty much inured to spooky castles by now. What did she Crime Solitaire 2: The Smoking Gun about it? Colllectors just right for me. Lately I have been pretty skeptical about new games because almost every new one I have tried have either been effortlessly easy or the story line bores me so badly. And the story made sense and left hardly any unanswered questions! There is not really anything new with the HOP scenes although there are some very creative touches. This is the only game of this kind that I have skipped the hidden objects to play the alternate game. I have played it thousands of times and still love it too death! I find with myself that I've like games the second time I've tried it, and not like games on the second time I've purchased and played it. It's not too easy - it is just difficult enough to be challenging without being impossible. I usually don't get too excited about Phantasmat games because they are so dark and gloomy. Plus, all the achievements come in the form of little car ornaments for your dashboard!

The ambiance is excellent, the music goes with it perfectly and sounds like it's straight out of a movie, the characters are very well animated, and there are collectibles in every scene a brain in a jar and a morphing object. What could be better than that? The hotel owner - He was a gangster that decided to retire with his booty and live out his days in liesure. Phantasmat is my favorite series, and no other game has EVER been able to write a storyline as Phantastic as the original Phantasmat, period.
